Highlights from Bar.09

Bar.09 took place from 23-24 June at Earls Court.  It was a true reflection of the UK bar scene providing an invaluable resource to visitors with unrivalled access to the latest trends within the premium hospitality industry plus direct contact with the most influential individuals in the sector. 

Although smaller in size than previous years, the 09 event has been described as the best edition yet, providing a more intimate and focussed environment for professionals within the modern licensed trade. 150+ exhibitors displayed a range of unique and boutique products, stylish innovations and established iconic brands.

Bar.09 hosted 11 educational features in total, of which four were brand new: Drink Factory, Theme Top 100 Lounge, International Flair Convention & Wine and Champagne Lounge.

Drink Factory saw some of the biggest names in food and drink present a truly unique vision of the future of drinks using brands from the Pernod Ricard UK portfolio. Tony Conigliaro, Spike Marchant and Giles Gavin-Cowan (aka Drink Factory) championed two days of cocktail creativity which saw the likes of Dave Wondrich exploring the evolution of popular taste and Bernard Lahousse demonstrating the science behind food and drink pairings. Dave Broom and Steffi Holt delivered a thought-provoking reminder on the importance of involving all the senses and not just taste, making the Drink Factory’s inauguration an unforgettable part of Bar.09.

The International Flair Convention was extremely popular and had 3,000 visitors, making it one of the most energetic, exciting and loudest parts of Bar.09.
